Why Yoga?

As a full time student I spend a whole lot of time sitting on my bum staring at the computer screen or cramming in a study date with my flashcards. The amount of time I have to myself is more than cherished but often enough I find it too easy to spend that time sitting in front of Netflix, brainless, and still sitting on my bum.

Due to a very painful neck muscle spasm I am unable to do most workouts (or that’s the excuse I tell myself for having failed the Kayla Itsines BBG for the second time). I never knew how involved the neck is in daily movements until I hurt it. Not only does it hurt to move it but there is a constant pain for just holding my head. Bummer, amiright?

However, the silver lining is that I have plenty of time to dedicate to yoga. Actually, I say that I am forced to do yoga twice a day-once in the morning and once at night. The neck problem sucks but what sucks more is having tight muscles from tossing and turning all night or going to sleep feeling like you could have, should have done something for your body to make up for those long hours sitting down. I’ve also found that by waking up and getting some yoga down it loosens up the stiffness in my neck, which is nice because then I can try to enjoy my afternoons with out taking any pills.

I am using my Goal Zero portable speakers while I rock out to some tunes during a yoga session or just when I want to sit poolside and soak up the sun. Inside the speaker's pocket I am using the Jumbl Bluetooth Adapter so I can listen to whatever I want on my phone or stream through the wifi in the house in the backyard, which by the way has sketchy wifi so bluetooth is the only way I can.
