Comparing BB Creams: Maybelline, Revlon, + Physicians Formula

If you are like me than the past winter months have been fading out your lovely freckles. This is the time of year where I can put a regular face of makeup on and look in the mirror to see that my foundation is covering the majority of my angel kisses.

Alas, I have found a solution! Thanks to google search and the results of about a hundred thousand gazillion freckled faced bloggers I can now sport my faded out love spots with the help of a little BB Cream and some Powder to lock it all in!

After purchasing a bad seed of Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream (just my luck amirite?) I went back to the drugstore for Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream which worked just fine but felt very greasy on my mixed skin. It wasn’t even the end of the day, but around lunch time I looked in the mirror and could see that Rev’s BB Cream clumped up and I could very easily see the redness of my skin around my nose. About a couple days later, Rev’s BB looked kind of funky in the bottle, like it was separating. I thought that a it just needed a couple of shakes before I squirted out but even with that it looked greasy and clumpy.
In order from left to right: Maybelline, Revlon, Physicians Formula. See how Maybelline's BB spread out from the center and separating the oil from the pigment in the cream & also take a look at all the oil leaking down from Revlon's BB. Those two make Physicians Formula the automatic winner, I mean seriously just take a look at that nice creamy texture!

I retired Rev’s BB even though I only had the better part of 2 weeks with it. After doing research I found that others had the same problem with it, what a bummer because I wanted to like it.

Amazon then showed me the light with an amazing sale on Physicians Formula BB (It was a $20 value for only $9!) so I browsed the reviews of the product & then purchased it in light/medium. The product shipped here in no time and I was eager to rip open the packaging and squirt out the product onto the back of my hand. Because of the other 2 BB’s I tried I was half expecting there to be a problem with the consistency of the cream but was shocked to find it looking smoothly. The product was an instant pleaser but I didn’t let my guard down just yet. Now, after a very happy month with the Physicians Formula I am happy to announce our engagement.

It just feels so right.

  1. You should totally help me find a good one of these for my lovely angel kisses also. I hate putting on foundation and covering them up so entirely.
