Dr. Hauschka Hydrating Mask + Eye Balm|Review

Hello November! I'm welcoming in the cold with full embrace, the summer here in California has lasted far too long and in case you haven't heard we are in a nasty drought. And as much as I am thrilled about the rain, wind, and all the cozy feels my skin has the tendency to look like it's in as much of a drought as the whole state! Am I alone on that?

Anyways to combat the dry winter breeze and lock in as much hydration onto my face as possible I have invested in a few products that I've been eye balling after receiving a sample of, and that's the Dr. Hauschka Hydrating Mask and the Eye Balm!

Alright so I just smothered the mask onto my skin, it goes on clear so I just wanted to show you guys it before I smoothed it out. I've tried other hydrating masks which feel more oily, dry to be filmy, or are too thin and feels like it'll drip down my face. This is not that kind of mask. This mask is a bit thicker, but it rubs in super nice, it doesn't film up or make my skin itchy, to compare the texture of it it is very "balm" like, just not as heavy as an actual balm, you could see that I am able to swipe it on my cheek like a cream... I guess that makes it "balm"ish but swipe-able? ...Anyways, this mask doesn't dry like I've found a few masks to do (yes, even some hydrating masks I've tried have dried out on my skin before it was time to remove it!).

The formula feels lighter on my skin and I could usually wear this mask and quickly forget about it while I study, which I might have done a few too many times! I understand that it's pricey but for someone who is has dry, sensitive, eczema prone skin it was worth the purchase.

Alrighty, the Eye Balm is one of my favorite eye products at the moment. Because I'm so young I don't find it as necessary to wear, but as a student this thing is just about as close as I can get to that "goodnights rest" that I keep on hearing about, that things a myth, right? Unlike the Hydrating Mask I do notice this product while I am wearing it as the formula is much thicker. I feel like I don't pamper my eyes nearly as often and if I do it's with lower quality products, so after putting this stuff on I was like "whoa whoa whoa... what's this feeling on my lids?"

I don't think thick eye products are everyone's cup of tea but it's mine, maybe that's because I don't use it as often? I'm not sure.

Anyways, with these two products I feel like I am prepared for the driest winter California has to throw at me!

A Peace of Mind

It's funny how certain people could encourage a better state of mind. Since the last time I've posted I've been surrounding myself with new people, bringing new energy into my life, and trying so hard to minimize stress in my life.

Dear Anti Marriage Facebook Posts

Since same sex marriage has been passed here in the States for the entirety of...what...two days now, my facebook feed has been blowing up with lovely rainbow filtered profile pictures's and loads of cheers! Success! Finally! #lovealwayswins to name a few things. But also, there’s a small percentage of people claiming to be ‘traditional marriage’ supporters and not ‘gay marriage’ supporters. We are all free to think whatever we want, this is just my response to those who have written facebook posts about their disagreeance with the US Supreme Court’s hearing.

To Shave or Not To Shave

Your legs, pits, crotch, and everything else. Women are sporting their natural hair more and more (or at least now I am seeing it more and more). I initially didn’t think much of it. I mostly had questions about how hairy pits feels like. Nothing serious, just curiosity. It wasn’t until one of my friends posted an article about this new trend that I noticed, in the comments, how passionate people actually felt about women and our hair.

What's in My Book Bag

This summer I’ve made it my goal to read:
The Stranger by Albert Camus
Santantango by Laszlo Krasznahorkai
and these four short stories from F. Scott Fitzgerald: This Side of Paradise, Flappers and Philosophers, The Beautiful and the Damned, and Tales of the Jazz Age.

First Year of College | Reflection

Finals are over, grades are almost submitted. My desk is no longer piled up with textbooks, notepads, and assignments. Everything in my room is tidied up. I have the opportunity to sleep in until 10 if I wanted to.

Summer, how I love thee.

Lake Side View

Yesterday I had the pleasure of having a day in the sun with my very close friend Blonde Daze! We were armed with sandwiches, water bottles, and some towels which we threw down and ate while basking in the sun. After eating to our fill, we took the camera down to the lake and prompt it on the tripod for our not-so-typical-but-also-very-typical bestie photoshoot.

Why Yoga?

As a full time student I spend a whole lot of time sitting on my bum staring at the computer screen or cramming in a study date with my flashcards. The amount of time I have to myself is more than cherished but often enough I find it too easy to spend that time sitting in front of Netflix, brainless, and still sitting on my bum.

Comparing BB Creams: Maybelline, Revlon, + Physicians Formula

If you are like me than the past winter months have been fading out your lovely freckles. This is the time of year where I can put a regular face of makeup on and look in the mirror to see that my foundation is covering the majority of my angel kisses.

My name is Tatiana and I am a  daughter, sister, college student, turned blogger as I try to share my passions on all things “Beauty, Health, & Travel”. As a full time student I was left with little to no time for myself and it seemed like my life was becoming engulfed in books, studying, & exams. In the need to create my own space for myself I created Finally Freckled.

It is very rare that a college student can afford campsite reservations or plane tickets but the desire for travel was planted within me at a very young age, and as a daughter of two travelers it has become my goal to carry on that lifestyle as I enter adulthood. My goal in life is very simple: to see and do all that this world has to offer. I think it is because of my long history with traveling that my passions for health and beauty were born.

My Favorite Drugstore Blush

I have a confession to make. I have a routine whenever I enter a drugstore looking for makeup. It’s gotten that bad.

Weekend Rundown

I love reading weekend recap posts & especially if they have a list of goals they are going to meet for the following week. I’m a sucker for it all! Since Monday was a holiday for me I decided I might as well try my hand out at it.

How To Stay Motivated To Study

As far as being naturally smart goes I’d have to say that I am not. Concepts aren’t easy for me to grasp, I need to hear them hundreds of times to get them down. I read the texts,

The Runner’s Blues. If that is a thing, if not than it totally should be because it sucks.

Going Pixie

Today was just an average day.
Wake up
Shower
Brush teeth
Apply makeup
Eat oatmeal
Oh, and chop off more than 8 inches of my hair.
